The Sweet Simple Dress Pattern {Pattern Tester}

I recently was a pattern tester for the first time. I told you guys all about it here and how I was becoming a wee bit addicted. I love working from a pattern (it speaks to my slight perfectionist tendencies) and I really enjoy testing out a pattern and being one of the first people to make that particular outfit.

Guess what?! I was selected to do it again! Wahoo!

Allison from Freshly Completed has a new pattern out for a Sweet Simple Dress and I was lucky enough to be one of her pattern testers.

I was chosen to test out the 6-12 month pattern for my 8 month old daughter and I LOVE this pattern.

Simple enough for a novice sewer, there are so many ways to gussy it up. From adorable ruffles at the top, a cute flower on the shoulder or a sassy ruffle on the bottom, you can tailor this dress to match your little girl's personality to a tee.

Since my daughter is in the teething stages {everything goes in her mouth--especially if it's not suppose to}, I decided to forgo any decorations on top and keep the dress simple with only a ruffle on the bottom out of coordinating fabric.

I was able to sew this dress in one afternoon...I love it when that happens! Since I opted for a simplistic look this time, I can't wait to go overboard the next time I make it.

The sleeves are so cute with a small little pleat in them that looks adorable on my daughter's chunky
 baby arms.

And any dress that slides on without buttons or zippers is so nice. I love peasant style dresses for this reason...so easy to put on.

I love this fabric too. So cheery and bright. The perfect dress for summertime.

I am looking forward to making another little dress for my youngest daughter with a matching dress for my oldest daughter. I love it when sisters match!

With this dress pattern, the possibilities are endless!
